Helen McCabe-Young is an accomplished business leader whose extensive Brand, Marketing, and Sales experience spans an array of professional genres including luxury hospitality, destination resorts, cruise, retail, and wellness. She is most recognized for achieving impressive commercial and brand success for One&Only Resorts, Atlantis The Palm Dubai, Silversea Cruises and Princess Cruises.
Helen held several senior leadership positions with Kerzner International including Chief Marketing Officer, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Head of Corporate Communications. From its launch, she propelled One&Only Resorts to the top of the ultra-luxury category and established Atlantis as an iconic Dubai landmark, garnering immediate and unprecedented global attention along with the opening of Palm Jumeriah. She also opened several new markets for the company including Russia, China, Japan, India, Australia and South Africa. At Silversea Cruises, Helen set the brand’s strategic marketing course for the line recognized as the #1 Ultra-luxury Cruise Line.
As a business consultant, her focus on illuminating brand purpose to galvanize culture, inform customer experience and drive brand positioning has also resulted in achieving banner year revenue results for her clients including Carmel Valley Ranch, Ventana Big Sur, an Alila resort, and Grupo Vidanta, a preeminent Mexico Tourism developer among others.
As Entrepreneur, Helen co-founded Place360® Health+Spa, in Del Mar, California which quickly garnered key recognition as “Best Medi-Spa” by Spa Week Luxe Awards and ranked among San Diego’s top three Best Med Spas & Day Spas by the San Diego Union Tribune. Helen has twice been named “100 Most Powerful Women in Travel” by Travel Agent Magazine, and received numerous awards for creative excellence in Marketing.
kim grijalva, co-founder + executive creative director
New York born designer and creative director Kim Grijalva has more than twenty five years experience working in the creative industry. A degree in Industrial Design and an MFA in Set Design led Kim to a career obsessed with creating storied images, immersive design, experiential spaces and innovative campaigns. Kim’s award-winning work is always informed by her deep understanding of the human experience and has been featured in Metropolis, Print, Ocean Drive, Venice and Communication Arts Magazine.
A consummate professional experienced in leading the development and execution of advertising, branding and integrated marketing communication strategies in the U.S. and abroad. Kim is a hands-on, results-driven leader, an innovator and experienced strategic problem solver with a record of success in consumer products and services, travel/tourism, real estate, restaurant and retail.
In 2012 Kim created a co-workspace The Guild 5 Forty Five for designers, photographers and architects. In addition, The Guild played host to monthly events during Fort Lauderdale’s FAT Village Art Walk. Kim curated many local and international artists, fashion designers, product designers as well as creative directed and produced multi-media dance performances in the gallery she coined "Box 5 at The Guild" — creating a platform for artists, creatives and local businesses to meet, mingle and share. To encourage arts and design in education, Kim went further to create the Flywheel Initiative aimed at bridging city arts organizations like FAT Village with public schools to create an immersive experience for students, featuring field trips and hands-on workshops with creative professionals.
